1. How does myTaste.com work?
myTaste.com adds recipes from major food sites in the US and Canada, as well as recipes from food bloggers who choose to sign up and add their recipes to our index, which we retrieve through RSS feeds. A visitor to myTaste.com searches for the recipe they are looking for and are able to find results from major food sites as well as blogs in the search results. They then click through to the food site or blog to read the complete recipe. In other words, myTaste.com is a specialized search engine for recipes.
2. How can I change my Rssfeed settings for blog.com?
If you are using blog.com you can´t change your Rssfeed by yourself without contacting your blogportal and see if they can help you change the number of readings in your feed.
When mytaste.com has approved your blog.com our scraper only picks up the 10 latest added recipes and of course all the new ones that you put in your blog from the date you were connected to us.
We can´t scrape more than 10 old recipes, so if you have 50 recipes when you add your blog to us we can only scrape 10, that is nothing more for us to do if you are using that portal.
3. Change your Rssfeed for blogspot using feedburner
Go to your feedburner account
Go to “Myfeeds” in the headmenu
Click on your blog that you have registered
Go to “Edit feed details” right under the blog title
In the end of the feed add:
For atom - ?max-results=1000
For rss - &max-results=1000
4. Why should I join myTaste.com with my food blog?
myTaste.com is one more way for you to receive relevant traffic to your blog. Many of our users go straight to myTaste.com to browse recipes from food sites and blogs.
5. How can I add my recipes to myTaste?
The recipes featured on myTaste are linked directly from different blogs and sites. You should be the admin or owner of the recipe site or blog so you could join us. When you join, our system will automatically add all your recipe posts through the RSS/feed of your blog. It means that you will not have to upload your recipes one by one. If you have a recipe blog and want to join mytaste, please go to main page and click the "Food blogger? Join" button. If you have a recipe site and want to join us here in myTaste, kindly reach us on our Facebook site.
6. If I add my blog, will you use my content?
Yes, to some degree we have to. To be able to properly show your relevant recipes in the search results, we use parts of your recipe title, a small part of the main content and the first image you have used to accompany it. All this information we get from your blog's RSS feed and we then link directly to your post with the recipe. We never use your full content and in order to read your full recipe the user has to visit your blog.
7. Do you use so called no-follow links to the blogs and sites?
Yes, we do, just like many other sites that link out to a lot of external websites (Wikipedia, Google, Youtube etc.). The reason why we use this attribute is that we do not want to affect the bloggers' possibilities to rank in search engines, in any way. This is a common standard for larger sites and search engines that link out a lot to other websites. You can read more about no-follow links here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nofollow.
8. How will the no-follow links affect my blog ranking in search engines?
The idea with using no-follow links is to not affect ranking whatsoever. Your blog will not get better rankings in search engines because of the links from myTaste.com and it will not get worse rankings either. This is why sites like Wikipedia, Youtube and Google, to name a few, use the no-follow attribute, to make sure that their links will not be up for debate on causing websites to rank good or bad in search engines.
9. Why can’t I see all my recipes on your site?
We can only index those recipes that are listed in your RSS feed. If you want us to index more of your posts, you need to change the configuration to your feed so that it contains more content. Once this is done, we can start indexing more, or all, of your recipes.
Read more about changing your Rssfeed in the FAQ.
10. How to change the Number of Feed Items In my blog's setting for Wordpress?
If you are using Wordpress, the default number of feed item on your settings is 10. This affects the number of recipes that can be indexed on myTaste. You can configure this on your account settings.

11. Why are the photos of my recipes not showing or not properly indexed on the site?
Our system indexes your recipes to our site through the rss/feed of your blog taking the title and the first image of every post you have on your blog. If the photos are not displayed correctly for some reason, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll further assist.
12. What is this widget that you want me to add to my blog?
The member widget contains html which makes it possible for us to measure your blog's traffic for our top food blog. It's not a requirement that you add the widget for us to index your recipes. However, it needs to be added if you want your blog to show on the blog top list. The widget also contains a link to myTaste.com so that your visitors can find the origin of the badge.
13. There is a code showing right beside the widget, how can I fix this?
14. What are the guidelines in joining more than one country?

You can join different countries as long as your blog is written in the same language of the site. 2. In placing widget, you are allowed to pick only ONE widget among the countries you are joining to be added on your blog, your blog will appear on the top food blog list to the country from where you picked the widget.
15. What should I do if the top food blog list shows incorrect number of my traffic / visits?
By placing our widget on your blog, our system will be able to count the right amount of your website or blog traffic. If you see an incorrect number of visits, this may be due to one of the following issues: 1. The widget you put on your blog has incorrect code. You can double check if your code is correct by going to http://www.mytaste.com/update-your-food-blog. 2. The widget is placed on other part of your blog such as “about page” or “contact page”.
